Connecting Model samples to DAW

Hello,

my equip is the following:

Model samples
behringer umc240hd
midi cables
FL Studio DAW

I am trying to connect the model samples to my Daw, so that i can sync the bpm and directly convert the drums i composed on the model samples to the DAW.
How is that possible.
I simply can not figure it out since I am pretty new to the world of synths etc.

Thanks alot

For one, you can’t transfer audio over MIDI cables. It would only let you sync the bpm, as you put it. I am not 100% but I think you can do all of this just over USB. I hate to be this guy, as Elektron doesn’t always have great manuals, but check the manual.

If it doesn’t work over USB, you’ll need audio cables that go from the outputs of the MS to the inputs of your UMC240. It will also involve choosing the right settings in the MIDI menu of FL Studio. Then on the mixer you’ll have to select the audio inputs of the UMC240 one of the channels.

Hmm okay, got that with the bpm.
I can connect the model samples via usb yes. I also read somewhere that that replaces the midi.
But from this point on I am lost…
How do I get the sound from the OP into the mixer. I can’t work that out.

I came here to post this exact issue.

I’m looking to control my Elektron Model Samples / Cycles sequences via Studio One, so I can record some of my sequences.

Presently, I can select each separate track (instrument) by selecting the corresponding MIDI out channel in Studio One. However, regardless of the out-channel selected, pressing play automatically triggers the Model Samples / Cycles to play the full pattern on each whole bar.

What I’d like to do, is trigger and stop sequences (either whole patterns or each separate track) at specified points in Studio One, but I can’t figure out how to do this.

Are there any other Model Cycles/Samples (or any groovebox users) who know how to incorporate their sequences into their DAW? Sometimes, I find the groovebox workflow easier to write with, rather than in DAW. But I also want to be able to utlise those patterns when putting full tracks together.

I believe you have to select it as the audio device in “Audio Settings” under the Options menu, that is if you are using it over USB. It would be different if using audio cables.
