Two years ago today, we released this album on Bandcamp. We used our experimental pop methodology of improvised music and vocals derived from cut-ups.
We employed a lot of new gear in the process of making the album: EHX Attack Decay, EHX Superego+, Arturia Microfreak, Volca Drum, Roland V-Synth, and for the first time ever an acoustic guitar.
It was also the first time used a TC Helicon Voicetone T1 pedal to add compression onto the incoming vocals. We’ve used it ever since.
A few songs feature the last recordings of our Reface CS and the Deepmind 12D (these were traded for other gear in 2019).
The rest of the gear includes the Electribe ES-1, Digitakt, Roland D-05, Audiothingies Micromonsta, Volca Beats, Waldorf Blofeld, Telecaster, and of course, the Bass VI. Plenty of pedals, too.
Everything was recorded into a Tascam 2488neo. On two songs, we dubbed the instrumentals onto tape via a Kenwood KX-W594 to alter the tonality of the music prior to adding vocals.
Despite all of this gear, it generally maintains a consistent mood. We hope you enjoy it.
