Im making soup, and trying out the polymod section of the Prophet 6.
Have it going to the filter, with unison off and on, which refires the envelope, to not.

Thoughts. So Iāve picked up a Malevolent by PWM. And Iām comparing the two. And I have to say, compared to the Prophet 6, the Malevolent is a toy.
Now did I waste my money? Should I return it.
No. Because it is helping me understand synthesis and has lead me to making better sounds on the P6.
The Malevolent is great at its pulse width mod saturated distortion, but is very forward in a way that makes the elegance of the P6 shine.
Same can be said for the Matriarch. Itās also very good, but way less refined compared to the P6.
Each synth is a different brush in my palette case, to add color to my musical canvas.
(I literally gagged as I write this bullshit metaphor.)
Or to put it another way. Different fun box of sounds make different bleep bloops.

Funny you should say that. Iām already contemplating selling the A4. Iām not really using 85-90% of the features for such an expensive machine and Iām not in love with the sound of it at all. Hence mostly shoving the 0-Coast through it. I have a second 0-Coast coming this week, so Iāll see how it works with both of them in tandem, then maybe get rid of the A4 if all itās doing is basic sequencing, adding filtering/distortion and layering reverb ā I can do all that and get it sounding much better in a DAW.

Messing around with a drum loop and time stretching in Logicā¦ added little alterboy to pitch the drums back down, and added some Animoog Z to make it something to shareā¦ just a shakedown of features, and not a ārealā trackā¦

Someone posted a cool guitar riff + some iPhone recorded rapping so I thought Iād have some fun with it and mix it into an electro rock banger in the style of Kasabian with Dune 3 (Which Iām still loving).
