Hello there

I’m using the CV and FX tracks to sequence a sampler which is connected to the EXT IN. Works really wel since you can lock the FX values on the input on the sequencer.

I’m trying to do 2 more things, but I can’t really get there. I’m thinking it can’t be done, but there’s no harm in asking.

  1. Can I use the 4 parameters on CV C page to control parameters on my sampler by having it send out CC? I notice there is a communication when I change one of the 4 parameters. However, when I turn it, on my sampler the parameters jump to a value of 0. I’m using TAL Sampler at the moment, but I would like to control my Akai S3000XL instead of TAL. The Akai has fixed CC numbers. I also have a Digitone which is more flexible with external MIDI gear. Although since I’m sequencing from the A4, doing it on the A4 is more convenient.

  2. I can’t seem to figure out how I can use the arpeggiator to send MIDI notes to the sampler… I remember reading, I believe in the manual, the arp sends out notes over MIDI as well… It’s not working, though

Welcome to the forum!

The Analog Four’s data entry knobs can send CC messages but the sequencer does not.

Edit: see below for more precision.

The arpeggiator does not send MIDI note messages.

Ok thank you.
If the encoders on the CV page send out CC messages, I guess there’s a miscommunication between the encoder and Logic

My previous response was not as precise as it should have been. The data entry knobs on the 4 synth tracks can send MIDI CC messages but those on the FX track and CV track do not. See Appendix D in the manual.

(They can send NRPNs, though.)
