CV output issue

Having an issue with my A4.

When I use the CV track, everything is fine. I can tune my CV synth to my A4, copy track 2 (for example), and then hear my CV Synth play that line perfectly using CVA for Pitch out and CV B for gate data. However, when I change the source for CVA and CVB to Track 1-4, it plays back, but the gate (at least) is intermittent. It’s clearly not playing the pattern 1:1, but almost sounds like its being run at half time (every other note trigs, or so).

At first I thought it was my adapter, but - again - it works flawlessly when I set the source to the CV track for pitch and gate.

I’m not crazy in thinking Elektron’s intent for allowing the CV A-D source to be Tracks 1-4 is for a 1:1 replication of their note data, yeah?

I’m uploading a video to Youtube now, but figured text should work well enough at first. I’ll edit it in later if that feels necessary.

Oh, and the external CV unit runs fine when the CV outs are set to follow the CV track only, so it’s not my configurations (I’m doing 1v/oct, v trig, etc). At least not those obvious configurations.

Edit: Here’s a link for the issue: - YouTube

Slightly reduce the note length on the tracks that don’t work well to see if a gate staying high is the issue. Compare to CV note settings. If the A4 is synced try make it master before the other test. It sounds like the gate isn’t falling. Haven’t seen video though

Interesting thought.

Only problem with the theory is a direct copy of the track works fine, but only when played off the dedicated CV Track. Same notes and duration do not work when the source is set to what I copied from, Track 2 in my video example.

That said, I did consider gate length when troubleshooting this, and I will look again.

I should add, the track I’m working on is dedicated to this issue, which is to say I sat down and said I’m finally going to solve this problem, and wrote a pattern with that goal in mind (vs just stumbling into the problem while writing something else). To that end, the pattern of notes use default note length (i.e. were input as trigs, all at the same note, and then pitched via the notes screen), and no conditional trigs are used.
