Cycles USB-Audio Ableton OSX ( solved )

Hopefully i havent missed any previous question, seems my problem is at least a little different than others.

As stated above i try to record audio via usb into ableton.

  • Device is found and selected
  • A+M is active
  • Tracks are selected in Audio-Setup
  • Midi works fine - headphone on the device

Just NO input in ableton. Using the Cycles for audio-out ( Metronom-click for example ) works, tho there are glitches/dropouts every few seconds.

Any ideas? Stupid user or maybe faulty device?

Stupid user it was!

I wasnt aware that in Catalina the Security Value for accessing the microphone ( in this case Ableton ) has a blocking effect on outboard gear as well.

Being away from my usual equipment i had to find some other interface for checking if its Abletons “fault”, but found it was neither the Cycles nor Ableton, it was just that i had to allow Ableton to have access to the laptops microphone.

Maybe it helps someone else for troubleshooting…
