DAW (Reaper) controlling Digitone via MIDI without starting sequencer?

Hi,

Maybe I’m again holding it wrong but,
Is there a way to use the Digitone without the sequencer starting?
Every time I hit ‘Play’ (or Record) in Reaper, the Digitone starts the Sequencer.
A workaround is to have an empty track.
Also I see that he BPM are constantly changing back to the value set in the Digitone.
I’ve tried to not send Clock to the DN, also starts the Sequencer with ‘Play/Record’.

I don’t have a Digitone to try this out, but try disactivating CLOCK RECEIVE in the GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG > SYNC menu.
