Digi duo audio out, which one to another?that is a question

currently, digitone or digitakt both got the mixer ability by os update.
when you setup the duo, how to make audio connection?
digitone audio out to takt?
digitakt audio out to tone?
digotone has global overdrive
digitakt has compressor

pro and con?

please write your opinion

I do Takt to Tone because I don’t want the compressor to jack up all my synth sounds.

Only the Digitone has drive for external signals iirc.

DN to DT:
Pro’s
Compressor
Ability to instant sample DN.
DN as master also for external synths; chorus fx for external gear and drive.
Note: DN has chord and scale modes on midi tracks so i prefer DN as midi synth master and like to have both midi and audio connected to same device.
DN thru DT opens ability to automate DT’s FX parameters like loopback methods.

Con’s: can’t route DT audio in signals to pass compressor.
DT’s sampleinputs are occupied (can still use USB audio inputs or thru DN inputs to give a little overdrive to the samples)

I believe this is a question without an objective answer.

This is typical a decision made by experimenting and seeing what works best for you.

in a studio setup…i’d stay with the old fashion way…tone hosts takt…end of the day u’ll always wanna leave the instant sample option open to anything that crosses ur mind…

in a live set up…u defenitly wanny harvest some overall compression…therefor takt hosts tone…

while sync/midi wise, tone should always take the lead…
and takt’s midi out left open to the outside world…

With a mixer and aux sends, you can do both.

i thought you are right, that is what i m thinking,no matter which one master another, you face some trade off.
but sometimes, when we want setup minimal,a mixer just a little cumbersome

thanks, you are right! i do not pursue a perfect answer here and there is no one exist for this question.
when i use analog duo, most time is rytm out to a4,the evenness of digi duo just give more possiblity

and takt got compressor,
actually,dn has drive for sum all audio signal including external.

DN to DT in my case to sample DN.
I also have cables in DN inputs to sample outside things to DT via DN.
