OK thanks. Finally an instrument on which I can not really play a bum and just enjoy it Yes, make a sound pack if you find the time for it. That would be cool!
@Floppydisk_Pirates I had a Panart Hang Drum, I think it’s a nice emulation. I’d add more Velocity Mod, with slight detune and a more bellish / steelpan sound for higher velocity. A bit more attack, close to distorsion for max velocity.
A mute mode with Modulation Wheel Mod would be nice.
@Slim I’d also like to make a patch for it. I gave it an unsatisfying try, but I don’t have DN since a long time. Samples would be nice too!
Native Instruments made an insteresting plugin for that…probably easier to buy it and resample it.
Today I made an additional demo song to my “RAV Hand Drum” emulation patch for Digitone and Digitone Keys. Beat, bass and sfx are part of my upcoming Digitone sound pack.
Hand Pan test. Far from perfect. I wish I could bring more high frequencies. I used algo 2, maybe I should use another one…
Cool! Completely adequate. Doesn’t have to be perfect. But of course, give the patch some time, then the difference to the original will be no longer recognizable, sooner or later I had the same problem with the higher frequencies. That was also the reason why I set the LFO’s so that it doesn’t get boring. Good Job!
Thanks! I tried to make it more alive with velocity mod, but playing with AR MKI I was getting full velocity or below 64…
Feedback doesn’t seem to help for higher freqs. I also tried to layer another track with doubled ratios but it was too steelpanish!
Another algo, or another type of layer?
Oh, did you use the pads from the AR MKI as a midi controller for the Digitone? That’s definitely more fun to play! Unfortunately I no longer have one No pads at all!
Yeah, a new layer for the higher frequencies and last but not least another one for the hand noise
Fun but could be implemented. I have already finished hands and fingers as a patch
This would deserve a topic! AR yes. Digitone is a usefull velocity monitor, I definitely want better pads. Cheap usb Akai or probably the best (I had the HPD15 previous version) :
Yep, this is very cool! I would need a few more weeks to make the patch sound exactly the same or be admitted to hospital while trying
It would be a pleasure for me if you would share your new patch with me. Maybe I can use another algorithm to solve the problem with the higher frequencies. We can work on it together over the weekend maybe?
An attempt at some uplifting house:
This was one of those rare occasions where I actually managed to play/arrange the whole thing in real time without having to edit it afterwards…
8 strings guitar through DN, soundlocks recording and Prob testing.
It is called Never Paint Before a Video Gig.
I really like the Sound and the Vibe of this short dirty fingers Track! Very different from big Distortion. I’m always open to work with great guitar loops (I don’t play guitar). If you have some that you want to share, I’ll take it and show you the results later on.
I just experimented 4 layered tracks with lock trigs an arps.
Drums playing only if I press the keys.
Really great to play with applied lock trigs in live conditions! (Not possible with A4)
@LyingDalai you get it now?
So maybe not digitone only, BUT 80% digitone with help from the microgranny ran thru the mood pedal.
messing around with probability. digitone + sh01a
Nice! Sounds good!
This is such a good combo - sh01a for bass and DN for everything else.
Were you sequencing the sh01a with DN sequencer here? Or using patterns on the sh01a, or?
It was sequenced with the DN. Input in DN as well.
One of my favorite combos as well. This sounds great to me, keep it up!
