Another bump for track scale to apply to arp. I would use the arp wayyyy more if I could play chords into the arp that stick to the scale and get me to some some Four Tet style melodies:)
Is it just me, or does shuffle not affect the MIDI tracks?
I occasionally return to pattern chaining and it always puzzles me, especially the key combinations that feel a bit awkward. For example, Iāve never been able to work out how to repeat the first pattern in a chain. Repeating anything after the first is easy enough but something about the process just feels wonky to my elderly brain.
Iād also really love to see (and even better edit) the chain I just made. If itās a long one I might end up waiting quite a long time to see if I got it right, which is a buzzkill. Itās possible Iāve asked for this previously.
Thereās a weird trick for repeating the first pattern somewhere on these forums. Search for it. Itās a bit tricky, but once you get it down, you should be good.
Thanks, will go look. Always struck me as odd if it wasnāt possible - manual doesnāt give any clues.
Found a method detailed, thanks! Have noted it and will try the next time I use the Digitone. Itās more unintuitive finger gymnastics though, all of which backs up my wish for a better, more coherent chain mode.
Canāt remember if this key combination is used already (sorry) but perhaps Pattern + Rec could enter chain record, after which you freely enter patterns key by key, creating a scrollable, viewable, editable list. When youāre done, repeating Pattern + Rec could exit, activate the chain and return to regular operation. (Once upon a time I forced myself to learn the OTās Arranger - Iāve pined for it in every subsequent Elektron box)

Sub oscillator to add bass to otherwise thin sounds. Separate from the FM. Maybe give the option of the 4 common oscillators (saw, square, sine, triangle), with a simple BW filter with resonance.
-
True distortion. Not just overdrive, but actual dirty crunchy metal guitar distortion.
You have 4 operators so at least one of these can be used as a sub oscillator, no?
I always do that for beefing up sounds.
Sort of, but that would limit operators and possible algorithms. Iām talking about a separate oscillator. Itād be awesome for making super atonal sounds but giving them root notes, too.
You can make a ādouble sub oscā (one and two octaves below) by using algo=2, B=0.50,0.25. Then the feedback will produce different shapes etc. Lots oā bass. A dedicated sub osc would definitely be cool though.
Yeah, but then you only get half the operators for insanity! Haha. I want all operators all the time!
all i want is for the Digitone to have the Chord Machine from the Cyclesā¦
A Virus style mod matrix would be amazing for sound design on the Digitone.
If we could even send the envelopes and LFOs to multiple destinations it would really open it up.
It could be nicely implemented with an extra page in the LFO section with controls for Slot, Source, 3 x destinations and 3 x amounts.
Or maybe I just need to get myself another Virus!
MIDI kits would be helpful if you keep the same gear hooked up to the DN all the time & use it as a sequencer (which is what I do) then you could assign the CC values to control & parameter lock the external synth one time and not have to copy/paste to get that setup on another pattern
Yes, after the DT 1.3 update, I really want to separate FX send levels for each input on the DN too
man, midi kits that include user cc assignments would be so dope. You could basically use the DT/DN midi tracks as base level preset controllers
Yes, handy when youāre working with smaller synths that donāt have a lot of available onboard controls or are menu divers
Is there a way to consolidate midi/track sequences together? Like an internal bounce of sorts where you can sum sequences from several tracks together into one track. For example, drum rhythms on midi tracks 1-3 added all into track 1 instead of them using 3 separate tracks.
Nope, but nice idea. Like copy track would only copy trigs
Iām sure itās already been requested but Iād love to be able to use the arp on midi channels
