Digitone feature requests!

haha… dude this is really uneffective…
you’ve used every possible sound generator just to make noise.
and this is exactly the reason why most synths do have a dedicated noise generator!

You’re welcome?

Most synthesizers aren’t an FM synth.
You can make noise… use Sound Locks when you need noise.

Having the ability to add up to 2 COND per TRIG, this way, we can use ratio or percentage conditional for variation but still be able to use Fill mode efficiently on the same TRIG without having to do special “hacks” (i.e. Put a TRIG with a Fill COND right after one with COND used as a ratio/percentage and pull the micro timing all the way back to do a voice stealing when the Fill button is pressed).

I think this could speed up the workflow in some cases and also bring a lot more variation possibilities than the one I just mentioned.

Maybe just separating the Fill CONDs from the other CONDs would be better since it could be weird being able to put a 1ST COND along with a 2:2 COND.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Elektron will do this (especially after the big updates to the A4/AR).

Fixed operator options for each operator on page 2 of SYN1 button. This would enable better percussive/drum sounds (like some of the Monomachine FM engines). The fixed operator options is the missing part of the Digitone engine:

Yes! @Ess, any chance this can be implemented on your baby? It seems like it would really complete the DN engine!

More Scales like Blues, Arabic, Gypsy, …

Or maybe the possibility to define your own scale…

Yes, please more scales!!!

I should have kept the Korg Electribe 2 who has a fair amount of Scales and used it as a MIDI Controller.

Using an external keyboard with the digitone sucks.

You might think you could route midi into the auto channel, and then use the digitone track buttons to choose any one of 4 internal digitone sounds to play, then go to midi mode and play any one of 4 external synths, all from the same controller using digitone to route the midi.

This works perfectly fine as long as you only play note and velocity.
Try adding pitchbend, modwheel, or aftertouch? Suddenly it doesn’t work at all.

I get that you can’t record these midi messages into the sequencer. I even buy that the elektron reason for not recording them – that they’re performance controls where you should be able to use them to alter a running sequence – isn’t complete bullshit. But not being able to groove out with modulation sucks.

I want to use the digitone as my midi hub, routing pad and/or keyboard controller midi in, then using the digitone to choose what I’m controlling. But when I do this I lose MW/AT/PB messages. There’s no reason not to pass them through while in midi mode.

I’m requesting this feature: midi ‘modulation messages’ passthrough.

I think you can work around the issue by merging the out and thru, but I expect I’ll then get midi doubling on the notes.

How about and after touch knob on one of the empty spots somewhere so that we can plock and record it into the sequencer?

+1 for Name the CC Values(knobs) in the midi sequencer.

Quote from last firmware release note:

“Delay Time parameter values are now displayed as note values on relevant steps.”

It would be very nice to have that feature for reverb time, as in my opinion, calculating reverb with tempo can noticeably enhance the groove of the songs.

Has a real “the knife” sound to it (they used monomachine extensively no?) This would be awesome!

Yeah, both The Knife and Autechre.

Overbridge Renoise and Logic Pro support,
A retrig function
The ability to unlock the ratios from integer divisions

Retrig would make a lot of sense seeing as it has so many drum presets. Can’t see them unlocking the ratios, because it would take away from the simplicity they’re going for with DN

Retrig :pray::heart_eyes:

Arp some drums and set some off pitch retrigs. Urhmurgurhd

This is more of a Elektron sequencer/machine request but I find I “need” it more often than not with the DN.

Dual Stage Reloads?

How to explain…

Saved pattern. Cool I have something I like.
Something I am currently doing that is awesome but I am about to go off into another universe. I would like a secondary permanent save that I can switch to without reloading the project/pattern/track.

So kind of like A/B reloads? I don’t know if that makes sense…

Original track settings when project was saved/Interesting idea that I would like to not forget but remain on said pattern. I guess these are like SCENES on the OT huh? Yea looks like I am describing scenes… Would be nice without a crossfader though :stuck_out_tongue:

I could always “know” I am going to find something cool and copy/paste patterns but these things aren’t exactly planned :joy:
