Digitone feature requests!

It has probably already been requested, but an option to switch to 2 octave (1 octave for trig row, novation circuit style) when not in chromatic scale would be great.

I would love to see a dedicated mixer page, so I can simultaneously tweak levels on all four tracks at the same time. Benefits are huge, both for crafting balance and performance.

Multilayer trigless locks. Ability to set different conditions on the same step with different targets. Press and hold trigless lock,
Arrow up and down to scroll through layer 1 to 5. That would be insane

Has this been floated before? A mixer screen where you can simultaneously mix all four tracks, perhaps with panning and effects sends.

The benefits are obvious.
Cheers

Every Elektron box needs this.

Iā€™ve mentioned it quite a few times - it does seem obvious as there is room for it on the Amp Page 2 - The four unused boxes at the topā€¦ Perfect!

How about we go one furtherā€¦
A page of 8 user-assignable controls (for each of the 8 knobs), to be literally whatever you want them to be, from anywhere in the Digitone.
You could set it up to control volume and panning on 4 audio tracks, or volume on all 8 tracks (audio or MIDI). Or you could have a page with 8 assigned controls for just one track.
For performance purposes this could be immense. Imagine Volume and Filter across all 4 audio tracks. Or Delay Time, Frequency, Reverb and Volume across 2 tracks.

Would give the whole system a new level of interactivity and control.

Sounds good to meā€¦ send 'em a feature request!

I have the Digitone keys and would really like the 8 knobs over the keys to be freely assignable over all midi channels to control CCā€™s within the synth. A mixer could be easily set up that wayā€¦

Still loads of stuff they can implement on the Keys.

Also an Ableton script would be nice for the 8 knobs to control the selected deviceā€¦

Midi track should have 2 LFO like the audio tracks!!
This would bring it up to 8 LFO and on par with the digitakt

MD has that with its CTR-machinesā€¦

Iā€™ve thought a bit about how painful the ā€œB ratioā€ parameter is to navigate, since you are scrolling through every possible combination of frequencies for two operators with one encoder. It is pretty awful, in my opinion, and I donā€™t know if any amount of encoder sensitivity tweaking for this parameter will make it much better.

I propose that we have some way of limiting the algorithm to 3 operators: C, A, and B, where B is only one oscillator rather than two. Each algorithm could have a 3-operator equivalent that deactivates whichever B oscillator that is modulating the other B oscillator ā€“ either as a new algorithm, or as some kind of a button combination (I donā€™t know ā€¦ maybe Function+No+encoder click?) that simplifies the B oscillatorsā€™ configuration in the existing algorithm.

Most of the time I would be perfectly happy with just 3-operator FM in the Digitone, especially since itā€™s possible to work with more complex waves than sines. The DX7 used 6-operator FM because it only offered sine waves, so if you wanted to work with saws or bent sine waves, you needed to use up operators to just to produce new waveshapes.

Ideally, there would be separate controls for the B1 and B2 oscillatorsā€™ frequency ratios, but I understand that the UI has no space for this without adding a third Synth page. I think being able to switch the algorithms to 3-op equivalents could be a fair compromise for making the ā€œB ratioā€ parameter less migraine-inducing to navigate.

All the elektrons could use this! Make an official feature request!!!

I emailed them directly. I agree - itā€™s a powerful feature that could unlock huge amounts of potential for performance and design.

I just want a dang song modeā€¦ All this seems easy to complicated and the guy that made the engine left elektronā€¦ Just put a song mode in there please!!

Or the Chain mode to be a bit slicker, thatā€™d do me.

Kits or at least a way to easily copy all track sounds but not pattern trigs.
Having recently picked up a RYTM, the DT/DN pattern = kit stuff is really slowing down track building!
RYTM you can build your kit then make a few patterns and then tweak the kit and the sounds stay consistent throughout each pattern. This workflow is much nicer than DT/DN workflow imo.

Picked up a DN last week and Iā€™m enjoying it more everyday.

Missing arp modes is an obvious but really important one. In that same vein, Iā€™d love to see inspiration jump starters like mutate or randomize pattern within key and scale.

Also havenā€™t figured out if theres a way to ā€œcommitā€ an arp to a step pattern, its always buried under a single trig. That would really help my workflow and headspace thinking about the notes in a sequence.

Yeah Iā€™m finding the same. Was thinking that a nice easy solution might be that if a track is using a saved sound, then tweaking it and saving the project should commit that change to every other track using the same sound, even on different patterns.

I am not 100% thats how it works? I thought as soon as u loaded the sound to a pattern it is now completely detached from the sound in the pool
