Digitone feature requests!

Yeah that’s how it works currently, I just meant that my suggestion might be a more realistic hope than implementing a kit system

Ah i misread thought u were saying that was an existing solution and got excited :stuck_out_tongue:

Unison Spread as an LFO destination.

Oooh that would be nice

[Always see current pattern page in grid mode]

Is there anyone but my humble me getting as well annoyed and frustrated by having to step through the pages manually by pressing that page button? It is a real slap in the face of (my) creative flow (sic!) that Digitone refuses to follow the page progression while playing back or recording in grid mode. Why do we have to go on a hunt for that flashing page led instead of just making music?

It would be so easy: We might hold the page button in combination with [func] for a second and the aparatus kindly keeps showing us the recent steps (1-16 > 17-32 > 33-48 > 49-64 > …), willing to receive our edits on the fly. Take a glimpse at Arturias sequencers where we can press the two page buttons simultaniuosly (<< + >>) and you know exactly what I mean.

The issue I mention here is a true bummer, often enough makes me feel stressed and leads to switching off and putting away that - otherwise lovely - machine. Hope for change through an update is still alive tho!

Same with Digitakt, by the way…

This creates nice organic generative melodies. This doesn’t even have to be per arp step, just for the whole pattern. The other probs don’t work for this.

I guess the first note of an arp should be excluded from the behavior.

I just noticed that the MIDI out only has one LFO, so another one would be fantastic. Also, a mixer page like on the Digitakt would be groovy.

Strongly needed in deed! Imagine a track at 60 bpm and scaled to 1/8x. Any idea how long it takes to clear let’s say… 6 different plocks in realtime by holding down NO + Parameter in live recording mode? That’s dumb.

So please! In grid mode press NO + Level to erase all plocks from the current track / pattern.
(or any other nifty combination fo the many buttons DN has)

Yep. On the Octatrack, with Func+No in live rec you can erase all locks.

you can press trig + clear to clear all locks off the trig

Yes, of course - very handy when it’s about some trigs. But who’s keen on repeating this action up to 64 times in a row to clear all of them? Plus it also clears the note lock and leads to the same result as the “clear track” command. So that’s really not what I’m looking for.

Well, so it might be possible…

Being able to only play/loop on the active page would be so cool.

Could be implemented on other Elektron machines as well.

On Digitone Keys it would be nice when items that are controlled through the mod wheel will reflect the changes live in the display when you’re turning the wheel. This could be indicated by an inverted color, so you can notice that the changes are not done through the data knob but the mod wheel.

Could you add an option to the MIDI channel settings, where you can select if for the particular channel the numbers for selecting bank, subbank or programm is either zero-based (0-127) or one-based (1-128)?

being able to send cc’s to all tracks from the user assignable knobs would be great, you could use them as performance macros on all the tracks

Yep, it would be excellent. Really open the synth up.

Two octaves to play. I get that black and white piano keys are mimiked, but I’d love to have two octaves to play on. For example when ION is the scale, all black keys are unused. Why not put another octave to play on these too. In other scales, just pull down the black used key to the unused white key below it and then again, another free octave of keys to use.

The metronome into Overbridge would be excellent

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the lack of a KITS option on the DN (and DT) is a huge oversight. Jamming out live always hits a snag when changing patterns and the sound changes made on pattern 1 get reverted back to the original on pattern 2. The ONLY way around this I’ve found is to sequence the DN with the OT, but then you lose out on the plocks on the DN, plus, that means you can’t use the DN solo. It’s absolutely ridiculous that this is not at least a user-definable option.

That plus:

  1. External control over the Arp settings.
  2. External control over transpose settings.
  3. External control over PITCH ALL (from the LFO menu).
  4. MIDI Arp and another MIDI LFO
  5. The ability to plock different sounds to steps right from the +Drive. While the soundpool is a great, it seems like it’s just another step in having to make use of preset changes.
  6. Plock the Arp.
  7. Individual FX per track.
  8. Dedicated Filter LFO.
  9. LFO settings changed to each LFO being on one page instead of half on one and half on the other.
  10. A dedicated noise generator to add a bit of hiss to the tracks. Feedback works sometimes depending on the algorithm, but it’s not quite the same.
  11. A bit-reduction effect
