When I jam, which is often I save my pattern when I’m happy with it. Then copy pattern and switch to an empty pattern and immediately you can paste that pattern on the new one while remaining in sync and then make variations to this new pattern.
Or you can save your pattern then delete your track’s sequence and built up a new sequence - copy and paste to a new pattern.
I don’t think we will see kits for DN since it’s a synth and IMO it is not needed. A new pattern is a new pattern so there’s no sequence on it anyway.
Maybe if you could choose to keep your present sounds when switching patterns could be a good workaround feature?
I’m very very happy having kits in my A4…Very convenient when you tweak a parameter and changing pattern for different sequence… but I also think it will never arrive, as you says…

Last night I discovered again why I keep with one pattern a song…
Something else, a detail, but it would be nice if modulation wheel position would reset when reloading pattern. I get it is not always wanted, so maybe a buried setting to let mod wheel reset or not, per track even?

Trig lock ramping.
Set parameter start point on First trig you want to have modified
Set parameter end point on last trig you want to have modified
Select ramping options (straight, curved, etc)
Real world example:
I want the filter cutoff to start on trig 12 and end on trig 16.
Set trig 12 resonance starting point
Set trig 16 resonance end point
Choose how the resonance will move from trig 12 to trig 16.

I mean, the A4 has kits and they work easily and simply. There’s no real reason not to implement it. Your method sounds nice, but insanely inconvenient when trying to keep track of a lot of things at once.
@FredM This is similar to parameter slides on the Octatrack. That’d be fantastic.

It would be nice to have the possibility of recording external pitchbend, modwheel and aftertouch messages directly into the sequecer (e.g. live or grid recording) for the four synth tracks.

Having the ability to set the amp/filter envelope shape to exponential would be awesome. I was honestly a bit disappointed when playing with the DN as I couldn’t create snappy basses and kicks like I can do with the OPZ, the decay curve seems “slow”.

Another idea, Trig-Preview Looping (not just for DN but for every box with trig preview):
Hold Yes+Trig for 3 Seconds while the sequencer is not running to continously playback the trig including the parameter locks on every beat. Changes to the parameters are directly applied to the trig as parameter locks while the trig loop is running.
Would be great to fine tune p-locks without needing to Trig+Yes everytime I make a change

Soooo Many A4 and OT parameters / feature requests for the DN!!!..maybe it should’ve been a flagship after all…cool that it was honoured with keys, but yeh some of the parameter slide, kit, scene, performance, individual outs, song mode sorta stuff that is in the Analogs and OT would have made for the most interesting of Elektron boxes, definately worthy of flagships status and price…guess you could say that about the DT as well though…

It could definitely be turned into a flagship box - a little bigger and with either an OT style fader or macro knobs - and more polyphony for sure. I would love to see such an expanded Digitone!

I miss the ability to create own MIDI track presets for the settings of channel, bank, sub bank, programm etc. and the possible different CCs. Also please allow to rename the assigned CCs (SEL1–8 / VAL1–8). It’s a bit annoying the repeat those settings again and again and again …
