I’m setting up a Beatstep for easy access to parameters and wondering if there’s a midi CC equivalent to the midi+parameter trick that affects all 4 tracks? I can’t seem to find mention of it in the manual or throughout the forum.
There is no “control all” via CC, because, either it would double the number of required CCs (and they already run out of available CCs with the latest update) or you would need an own MIDI channel exclusively used as “control all” channel.
I just realized from a performance standpoint I could assign all 4 tracks to the same midi channel (or create groups of 2+2 or 3+1) to manipulate all of the tracks at the same time. So once I’ve put a pattern together, assigning all 4 tracks to midi channel 1 means any encoder programmed to control say, filter cutoff, would cut the filter of all 4 tracks simultaneously, yes?
The problem is that Elektron devices doesn’t support relative CC messages. Every received CC message is interpreted as absolute value.
So with the first received CC message all tracks would jump to the same fixed value for the corresponding parameter. That’s quite different to how Control-All behaves.
