Digitone MIDI control cc name custom labelling

I’m trying to figure out on the digitone if you can change the name of the encoders.

From what I understand from the manual and youtube videos, I can use a MIDI track to send out cc via encoder to my Access Virus T12. But I can’t seem to find anywhere if these knobs can then be labelled. That way in the Digitone when I set a knob to control the cutoff of Virus T12 filter 1, I can label it as Cutoff 1.

Sorry if this is answered somewhere already, I’ve given up trying. But this would be a huge help to me. I don’t have time to make music every day and memorizing every generic midi knob for each song drives me crazy!

You cannot change the labels for the encoders. The easiest solution is to write down your settings in a notebook or something similar.

Ok, that’s a bummer - that would be so useful. I’m guessing it is the same on the Digitakt.

Not only that but because the Digitone already has most of the major functions a normal synth has, like Syn, Filter, Amp, etc, I was planning to put the proper MIDI controls on each page. If they ever update this, you could potentially control several synths from the Digitakt and never look at them again - without having to memorize 4 x 64 = 256 settings in memory!

Same on all boxes. Stickers!

What do you mean, stickers?

Ok - thanks everyone for your tips/suggestions - appreciate how helpful this community is on everything!

Also appreciate everything Elektron has done. I know a lot of people get pissed off about features that are not there yet - but, I realize as a business owner myself - that with limited resources, it is impossible to do everything all at once!

In the meantime, I can use my Push or Komplete Kontrol to continue controlling synths with labelling. And will continue to use Elektron machines in whatever way possible.
