Digitone's Digital Filter

Anyone know what it was modeled after?

which one … there are four (technically if you throw the base/width one into the mix)

anyway Ess mentioned on a stream that the 4 pole was based on a well known ladder filter - hmm, no prizes for guessing that then !

either way, they sound great.

it be cool if the added a LP3 Filter modeled after a well known Roland Bass Synthesizer

this is what Roland say about that

can be switched between a square and saw wave before sculpting with the 24 dB low-pass filter (often misquoted as 18 dB, 3-pole)

that’s interesting, I just dug this up.

Blockquote The TB-303 filter is actually a flawed 24dB/oct design, making it more like a 18dB/oct filter. It is a unique 4 pole diode Ladder Filter (the diode ladder was an invention of Bob Moog’s) which uses transistors instead of diodes which gives the response of a 3 pole filter.

hmm. aren’t there several well known ladder filters?

Whatever they are modelled on, they are some of the most characterful digital filters I’ve ever heard, super underrated superpower of the digitone imo. Props to the dsp team
