Disabling the song/pattern switch button?

Probably a stupid question, but - is there a way to disable the goddamned one press of a button-switch between pattern and song on the MD? For the second time in a space of two days I’ve accidentally hit the “global/pattern/song”-button while working on a new kit, and lost everything. It’s bloody fucking annoying.

Is there any way to just disable that button without having to put some sort of physical object over it?

SAVE kit and COPY pattern and make a backup.

Yeah, if I had remembered to save the kit occasionally it wouldn’t have been a problem. I think I just need to put some sort of protective cardboard over that button or something.
