Hey all - dumb question, but is there any difference between these two controls, aside from the fact that you can plock amp volume? I’m not hearing how these two controls affect the sound any differently from one another, and I don’t hear amp vol introducing any non-linearities into the signal chain. Can amp vol affect the sound in a way that track level can’t? Or is it pretty much there just so you can plock trigs and sound locks differently?
The DN is a digital device, so I doubt either level control introduces any further nonlinearities. What you describe only applies to the analog 4 / ak & rytm IME.
AFAIK, amp level is level into the filter (ie it’s pre filter) and track level is post all track processing. So, depending on what you do, they can have different results and uses.
[It would surely be clearer and more intuitive of the AMP page was before the FLT page and so the order represented signal flow. Don’t get why it was designed like this, unless I’m missing something (I’m not in front of the Digitakt right now)].
Whoops sorry I thought you were talking about the Digitakt - my bad. I think what I’ve said still applies to the Digitone though…
