Donner D-1 Sample Based Drum Machine

I tried to purchase it but it’s sold out.

I watched the LXR 02 video manual.
It does things the RYTM does and doesn’t do.
Little bit different workflow, and in some ways it’s not as easy as Elektron for sequencing.
Hard to tell without getting one, but it seems closer to RYTM in terms of competition.
Again I’m not very preceptive or intuitive before coffee in the morning.

For me this thread seems part serious, part joke, definitely GAS related.
So I’m only loling 1/3%

Personally, I love that companies like Donner are bridging the gap for cheap gear, even if it is not the brilliant build quality of others. I would not buy it, but 20 year old me with moths in my pocket might.

another product launch without any demo videos to show its features off. smart.

Did they fix the slide on it? Supposedly it was the biggest flaw of the machine.

Apparently they did!

That’s a great price where was this?

Didn’t expect that…maybe cool for some risers, reverse cymbals or just additional percussion for live gigs - or smt cheap to play with/as a sketch pad, maybe even take outside without worrying too much…
Their bassline isn’t too bad afaik.

On their website, using their 10% Easter discount.

Ahh. That explains why it’s now showing as sold out on their site.

As a TR8-S owner, I would appreciate a simple sample based drum machine that can record unquantised/off grid. The TR8-S’s biggest drawback is that it is very on grid. I also own a Digitakt but I want a more immediate sample based machine for unquantised drums.
