I got an Overhub (the red one) but my use-case is not using it with Overbridge. I got a lot of different gear which I could hook up to the Overhub for data on my iPad and especially for power in my mobile setup:
- 1010music blackbox
- LinnStrument
- Deluge
- USB Ethernet adapter
- Softstep
- Pioneer Toraiz AS 1
- And some other gear using 5v to 9v converter cables
– Kenton MIDI Merger
– Korg 6x MIDI Thru
Maybe this might be a little too much (The AS 1 alone needs 2A) but you get the idea.
I actually got the top 4 devices on the list connected to the Overhub and they’re working fine.
But there’s no specification around how much current each port provides. According to the prints on the Overhub the power supply must provide 3A so my experience that there’s more than 500mA (USB 2) or 900mA (USB 3 power delivery) provided on each port. Maybe it’s 1.5A? (USB battery charging) Or even more? (USB power delivery)
I got a 4A power supply which is sufficient for the red version and the blue version even requires 4A. But I don’t want a nasty surprise on stage.
