Just wondering if they have the Digitakt and Digitone, why they’re taking the last part of the name this time around. It makes me think it won’t be digitakt shaped/sized…
The digitakt stands for ‘Digital Rhytm’ so this is more towards the Rhytm part of the Digitakt.
Very curious.
I was on the fence on buying a used AR2 when I sell my force. This will probably be another half year / 2 years.
I’m not so sure about the timeline, didn’t they hire more engineers two years ago for as they said “their next generation devices”
I’m guessing this might be what they have been working on… so maybe it’s a whole new format we have the models, digis analogs and now synt’s? Maybe who knows… it’s just fun to speculate…
I’m already looking forward to all the disappointed comments if the syntakt turns out to be an additional power handle that fixes the safety issues of the MC / MS power handle. The additional benefit is that you could also dry two towels simultaneously!
Just kidding, I’m sure it will be a great new machine!
Totally agree with @Unifono and @MichaalHell that, when compared to what’s on offer in modular (or apps/livecode), the Elektron sequencer is a little stale. I still think trig probability and BPM per pattern coupled with Direct Jump is fabulous…but BPM modulation, trigger delays, more and better scale implementations…these things need to happen.
well it’s got to be some sort of synthesiser in the 'takt format hasn’t it. the question is what type? FM has been done. so either it has to be VA (going significantly beyond the VA features of the DN) - something Cobalt8 or Argon8-ish - or it has to be analogue, and it would be weird to have a polyphonic Elektron analog which cost less than the A4, wouldn’t it?
or maybe it’s a successor to the MnM. or maybe it’s just a trademark filing. fuck i don’t know
it won’t be analog…it won’t be a “big” box in the hi end price segment…
and of course they’ll take all the advantage and selling arguments they can possibly grab…
which are their old worldfamous three super classics…
aaaaand THOSE COMBINED in one mid price segment box…is gonna be the syntakt…
which can we see as pretty much confirmed NOW…
all digi…THE all singin’, swingin’ overall GROOVEBOX…drumsynthesis that can go beyond…
and with every firmwareupdate u can also add/buy another next little soundengine for it…
i love and hate to repeat myself…
-wild speculation
-a weird promo video that gives us nothing
-it’s revealed, and it’s not a monomachine or an octatrack
-everyone complains about new low/mid range gizmo
-everyone buys it anyway and says they like it
-return to speculating the next OT/MM/MD
My most sensible guess is a Digi format drum synth reminiscent of the MD.
8 tracks and multiple machines freely assignable per track.
Instant buy for me
