I’ve got a skeletal road map and finally have a clean acapella I like, but I still have a ways to go. Hoping to get a good full draft done tomorrow or Monday and polish afterwards
Also trying to decide if I want to arrange on the M:S (Elektronauts!) or the M8 (90s-inspired tech with a nice SRR)
the rules made me slow down a bit to make sure the chops stay within the allotted time limits, which has meant a lot of back and forth to verify when adding any new element. i also have to figure out how to isolate all the chops to record them alone. unlike past challenges, i’ve stuck with one idea so far and haven’t churned out multiple tracks yet. just have to see this one through rather than change gears by introducing a hardware sampler, even though the limitations inherent in the hardware may make the process easier. or, i can start over, i guess… haha! we’ll see.
every so often, i take a break by going back to a jungle/d&b style tune i’ve been working on with an ike and tina turner drum break as the base. it’s like having a little vacation.
That’s definitely my kind of vacation, life’s been beating me up a bit lately but you can always rely on the breaks to get you through😊 looking forward to hearing all you guys submissions…
I started some jungle tracks that I never finished. I’ve also been making little instruments based off of samples pitched around in my Sampletrak to get some nice old school pad sounds. So making some jungle tracks is probably in my future, as well.
Yeah I’m the same I’ve actually finished my beat but I’ve just got to record the samples and it was way too hot yesterday in the uk to sit in front of warm electrical equipment lol
I’ll be sending mine in the early hours of Thursday morning uk which will still be Wednesday where you are
everybody’s cramming for a test. i even woke up early today to finish mine but didn’t made any progress before parenting and work duties kicked in. it’s gonna be another last minute mad dash.
