Erica Synths PĒRKONS HD-01

… I just rewatched the Perkons break down from Ericas Leo and the outro jam sounds so pretty damn nice and don’t get me started on how playable the sequencer looks.

Should I pre-order or just wait for @Fin25 to sell?

Either way you’ll probably have one by Christmas.

Seriously tempted to adding this to the Syntrx 2 from the same company. Got a desk space just for crazy ambient work. Will decide in next day or so.

Are you sure it wasn’t number two on your list?

Possible to hear some of your Ambient work?

It would be new direction for me. Just trying radical stuff for the first time being an old 80s synthpop sort of guy.

The voice engine no3 has both the bass drum and snare on it(algo1). How do you record both at the same time if there both using the same voice engine?

They are in different mode switch settings and the switches can be recorded into the sequencer, as can the algorithm switch.
Obviously one or t’other per step, not both concurrent.

Yes thats what i though not concurrent. I think this is the only anomaly i noticed. Everything else is great.

anyone actually got their shipping confirmation yet? i ordered from erica 40 minutes after sales went live and still haven’t heard anything yet…

Just a total guess, but I’d imagine they’ll probably ship out all the units to the retailers first, then individuals after that.

I’m optimistic you’ll know more before the weekend.

I bet knocking in some trigs and riding that (voice3) mode switch in rec style will lead to some tasty results :yum:

Listening to demos is this like a DFAM with 4 voices instead of just one… They sound very similar. But obviously more explorative capabilities with the extra voices.

also records automation and basically has all 4 sequencer voices accessable. Its the perfect performance techno machine…

Yes it does a load more.

Love the demos. $2,000 is steep for me. I’ll wait for the Behrkons BD-01 for $499.

Seriously though, why the $2,000 price tag? Makes sense for something like Pulsar-23. Even AR MK2 isn’t this much. Is it an R&D thing? Regardless, it looks like a fun and inspiring machine.

It is too much money.

But it’s a bit cheaper than the Pulsar, which, although mental and deep in a lot of ways, doesn’t have the variety of voices that the Perkons can achieve or the same level of performance features.

I see them both as equals, albeit ones that scratch pretty different itches.

It’s crazy really to think that Erica Synths has less than 10 employees, considering the sheer amount of awesome stuff they keep churning out. Also, everything they do is pretty close to being entirely made in Latvia now, which isn’t going to be able to compete price-wise with the manufacturing resources and scales available to people like Behringer and the bigger synth brands.

Yeah I think part of it is R&D, part of it is probably pushing it as a premium product. If they do an mk2 it might be cheaper by a wide margin like the on the syntrx mk1 vs mk2.

I must say I am liking these drum boxes with send/returns like the Perkons HD01 and the Modor DR2, arguably the Pulsar23 also…

I want them all :rage:

Ah that makes sense. That is crazy that they do all this with so few employees. I’m just thinking back to all the Erica Synths eurorack modules I owned. That’s a lot of work for the employees.
