When I connect a USB cable there appears a extreme low level hum sound on the analog output.
I don’t hear this with the A4/AR/AH.
Probely most people dont hear or noticed this but it’s there on the Digitone.
Is it only my Digitone or does anyone else also noticed this.
I like my signals perfect silence when nothing happens. So I just disconnect USB from the Digitone and this minor issue is solved.
USB noise is hugely annoying, my SH01a gets it pretty badly if I connect it. I can’t say I’ve noticed any hum on my DN Keys though, next time I have it powered up I’ll try cranking the gain to check. have you tried different USB cables, different ports to see whether that would help?
I’ve tried different USB cables. I forgot to mention if you close or open the volume on the Digitone there is no difference in lvl of the hum. Also you have to be really close to the monitors to hear it. These are small issues that that catch my ear and can irritate me. Even more because some of my friends don’t hear it…
I imagine not, but is anything else plugged into your computer aside from the Digitone?
It may help to somehow integrate this into your setup.
Maybe at worst - you could plug one end into a USB battery bank? I’ve been meaning to trying such a thing for my ground loop issues.
I know for a fact it works in certain applications - many people swear by this sort of solution.
Digitone/A4/AR/AH and iLok dongle goes into Overhub and Overhub into the computer.
Only on the Digitone the hum appears. Strangely also when just connecting a USB cable on the Digitone and no connection to something else so it’s only connected to the USB cable it the hum appears just by plugging in on the Digitone.
Don’t know if it helps but I could really use this for other things.
