FUNC key supposed to be backlit?

Hi all,

Just received a new Analog Rytm mkII and so far enjoying it a good bit. As I’m going through it, I’m noticing the function key is never illuminating or maybe I’m not using it in a such a way that it should yet. Should this be lighting up with use?

Cheers and thanks!

Mine illuminates.

A quick check suggests buttons have three brightness states. I’ll call them “available”, “on” and “selected” (or “low”, “med”, “high” might be more clear).

When I turn on my AR and it does that quick boot check light show, [FUNC] briefly illuminates at the “selected”/“high” level. After booting, it drops to “available” (matching most of the other buttons). I have not seen it go any higher in use. I don’t think you can “latch” the button “on” all the time, and when you’re using it, your finger cover its, so I don’t think it changes brightness level.

If you power on the AR whilst holding [FUNC], you’ll get a menu. Choose [Trig 1] for “Test Mode”. Wait for it to finish. It will give you a report. After it’s finished, pressing [Trig 3/4/5] will make all the buttons light red/green/blue, including [FUNC]. This way you can test whether the light works. I’ve not had any issues with my AR. My OT had a faulty button which wouldn’t show the right colours all the time; test mode helped identify this clearly enough to get a replacement from the shop I bought it from.
