This kind of thing is interesting, I heard a rumour that the PCBs of Buchla were dipped in LSD to supposedly add mojo to the electrons whizzing through the circuits, I always assumed it was just an urban legend. Also certain dub and reggae artists were known to expose tapes to weed smoke, gives a new meaning to baking tape
Some old Sequential Circuits gear had psychedelic images on the PCBs.

I thought it was funny how the reporter posed as if she were playing the Buchla. That’s cheesy af.

Ah! The “How do you do, fellow kids” of local journalists

I really need to open up my Prophet 600 to have a look (and it’s also been broken for 20+ years…)

The Pro-One definitely has substantial graphics on the PCB. I’ve opened mine before and seen them first hand.

You’ll find these 2 on the Pro-One board:

The buddha is printed, of course, and the shrooms are solder if I recall.

I wonder if Mutable Instruments drew any inspiration from this?

Funny thing is, I found this in the 90s when you didn’t have much in the way of internet resources for this kind of stuff. I was surprised but then not entirely, given the nature of the Pro-One.:heart_eyes:

Oh, and I’m kind of skeptical that LSD could remain shelf stable around heat and oxygen for that long. LOL.
