In my time zone, I’m writing this at 9:09 on 3-03.
Happy day y’all! Make and share some squelchy or non-squelchy sounds please.
Some inspiration from elsewhere on the forum:
Here is something I worked out on Analog Four, then decided to add some supporting sounds from TB-03 and TT-606:
recently considered picking up a tb-03 but realized the typhon can totally get into that acid territory. i also have an se-02 that can probably get there if i spent more time with it. for the money. the typhon is a very good option for this type of sound and more.
Total setup now is BSII, tb-03’ digitakt, analog heat and mpc live, clarett 8pre and a lexicon mx300 with a cpl of guitar pedals too, overdrive amd compression.
I bought the 8pre cos I had afew more synths earlier in the year as well as a tr8 including volca keys and bass a monologue, microbrute and a minitaur but all gone now.
Dataline’s most recent youtube uploads sold me on the TB-03 because I really liked the non-acidic sounds he would coerce out of it. I no longer have a TB-03, but I would like to get a 303 clone/remake in the future.

I can only speak for the TD-3, TB-3 andTB-03 here. I do own an original 303, which means I’ve done a fair few A/B tests - though only against one original, which I think is an issue (because it’s quite clear that 303s can and do differ - mine seems to have a fairly low resonance cap, so it doesn’t squeal quite as much as some other units I’ve heard).
The TB-03 is a nice all-in-one package. I love the oddball reverb, which can give some convincing Plastikman results, especially if you tweak it l…
Inevitable I guess.
I agree with @pidgeo that the fx on the tb-03, well the dist/overdrive anyway, sound absolutely crap, the delay is good and reverb just ok. I think the tb-03 synth sounds pretty good, definitely suited more to higher acid lines though especially when compared to my self built x0xb0x, TT-303 and real TB-303s.
The tb-03 definitely has some advantages though, it will be interesting to see what the Behringer will bring to the table, and if they get the sound right, which based …
Heh, I have tt-303, 2x tb-03, 3x tb-303, x0xb0x, all of them are great in different ways, soundwise the tb-303 is still the best, but not by the huge amount that some would try to convince themselves of, in a nutshell the tt sounds more like a modded 303, the tb-03 sounds fairly close aside to og aside from resonance a bit less liquidy, the x0xb0x sounds the best but thats because I spent a lot of time and effort on making sure it did.

My favourite 303 tracks:
And while conservative music scientists rage against contemporary classical music for being atonal and their main argument being that nobody listens to that noise, here we are with atonal acid lines everybody knows.
