I have a Roland mc-707 that is infinitely more capable, and yet I keep finding myself going back to the Model:Cycles for the happy accidents I discover. It’s also nice to lay down a track, and have everything at my fingertips. The Cycles has that pure analog feel with the parameters right in front of you that most FM synthesizers hide behind menus.

It makes me want a Model:Wave (wavetable), Model:Analog and Model:FX (fx unit). I also really want the power handle for portable on the go capabilities.

I picked up a model:cycles over the holidays I totally agree that it’s an amazing box, and maybe a bit underrated even? Almost impossible to make it sound bad and it’s perfect for doing improv jams with. Looking forward to future updates to this device or new entries in the model series!

f***in love my cycles.
lacking the complex depth of say the MDuw but it’s so hands on ye can crank out bangers in minutes.
it’s all sweet spot.
