Having Ableton send program changes at project load

I miss the workflow of the Pyramid, it was very easy to set up each track’s initial program and bank changes on project load. In Ableton this is more of a mystery , with multiple ways of sending initial program change. So, how do you do it?

I don’t think you can with just Ableton (afaIk), but you should be able to do that with max4live and a custom midiDevice for each instrument you want to send Program Change message.

Or you could program the Program Change message(es) within Ableton clips; in this case the patch change happens when you launch the clips, if that is an option.

Like I said there are many ways of doing it which I know of.

Is clips the way people do it? Anyone using a Max4live device?

OK, I spent a little time and tweaked a m4l device I found to send the PC on device load (i.e. project load).

Here it is for anyone who needs it.
