How are you using jjos2xl with your OT(or other Elektron gear)?

Trying to find the best way to sync an mpc1000 and an OT. Ideally wanted an mpc sequence change to change the OT pattern, but found the “one pattern late” issue. How are you guys using these together?

Send the program change before the end of the previous pattern.

I don’t have MPC1000 JJOS2XL anymore, I don’t remember if you can change its patterns with external midi messages.

You can set the pads on JJOS to send program change messages and record those to a sequence, so just do that and record the program change into the end of the sequence to trigger OTs pattern to change at the right time

Using the OT as master was ultimately the least clunky way of syncing. When you pattern change on the OT the sequence changes as expected on the MPC.

That’s what I was thinking about. OT master is better for recording anyway. :wink:
