I have been enjoying the machines, lots of new ideas but I did find it funny that due to the different parameter choice when using them I often ended up trying to do it freehand in one shot so I could get back things like start point or tune and take it further.
I didn’t like DT Start and Len settings at all, my former DT encoders were not precise, taking hours to set a specific values. I gave up using Start / Len, then sold DT (having OT).
Now I have better encoders, and Slice machine !
were your prior encoders faulty or did you get different encoders altogether now for.a new machine, and if so which kind?
I adapted more precisely Amen Break sample with a DAW, grid edit. If interested, you can download it.
4 bars, 32 slices.
I generally prefer a slice every 2 steps and I pitched it up by 5 steps, so tempo is 182.9 instead of 137 bpm.

oh I see
If you resample the loop you can use the digitakts trim functions to get a perfect loop. I did this with the amen just the other day.

This makes a lot of sense.
