So my chain is drumbrute impact > td3 > m:c > keystep. All of their midi triggers are set to default midi numbers. The M:C seems to be receiving midi note triggers from the Brute, causing it to play hits when they’re not programmed into the pattern. Can I change the Brute’s midi triggers or do I need to change the M:C’s? Will one of the settings in the M:C keep it receiving transport signals but not note triggers? I’m still new to the M:C and it’s my first elektron device, so I’m still getting used to it.
In the MIDI Config of the M:C, In Chan should be off for every Track, unless you want to send Notes or CC’s to the M:C Tracks with another Device.
I think the default on the cycles is: tracks 1-6 are midi channels 1-6. If your brute or td3 are sending to any of those channels, which it appears to be, you can change them so the notes won’t trigger. I have my cycles on channels 8-13 because I have other devices using 1-7.
Page 43 of the manual probably has what you’re looking for. If you’re not controlling the M:C externally, other than clock and transport, set the IN CHAN settings to off as well as the auto channel. That should prevent anything other than clock/transport from being received.
Thanks for the tips, all. Turning off the track channels worked!
