How do you prevent overwriting your kits?

Seems that when I make changes to my kits, even without saving them, they get trashed. Whats the best way to work with kits, while experimenting with new sounds, and not risk losing the kits that you already have?

Full answer covering the opposite end (making sure changes are saved) would be welcomed. I’m not completely sure if / when I’d better manually save kit / track / pattern and when I’m safe / better off not saving.

Yes + Kit : save
No + Kit : reload to last saved point

When you change pattern and want it to be linked to a different Kit, save the Kit as new.

I don’t mean to appear disrespectful, but if what happens is not clear, it might be a good thing to re-read the manual, and make sure you understand how Kits work.
Nothing suspicious nor incoherent in the way they work, really.

If you spot something weird and you have a crystal clear comprehension of the manual, then it might be a bug.
Try to reproduce it, and contact Elektron support, then.
