Except when choosing a spouse in regards of future status (like my grandmother used to say: If you want to be married to a general, you have to marry a lieutenant or so - my grandfather on the other hand mocked (in modification of Schillerās Die Glocke): Drum prĆ¼fe, wer sich ewig bindet - ob sich nicht noch was Bessāres findet. (Before committing for all eternity - check if there might be better options). SCNR
Iām so happy with the ST Iām actually day dreaming about a live setup with two of them and a digitone+heat
I am narrowing my setup to ST+OT+DN.
Resampling ST in OT has been funny to get MD like sample retrigs and other mangling. Or just adding some ambience flavorsā¦
12 tracks is quite the ideal number of tracks, to me.
Yeah it really is. Thinking about various different setups. Also with OT. Probably will go for a maximum setup (current one) and a minimal setup which should be easier to travel with. The only thing Iām really missing is a compact version of the DB4. Bluebox is close but just short of being it unfortunatelyā¦ OT is an option of course and maybe I should just try that firstā¦
I would pay for Big Sur/M1 compatibility for the DB4. Feels such a shame for it to only be a standalone device these days, especially that itās still unlike anything else.
Iām currently running my Syntakt, Analog Four mk2 and MPC Live 2 into mine, and itās fantastic.
It would be a dream if I could send and record itās audio via USB, along with Overbridge.
Did that on a windows machine for years. Itās indeed very useful and flexible with its USB routing possibilities. Iām actually a bit surprised that still nobody has copied the general idea of db4.
I imagine Iāll be DT+OT+ST for my live rig by the end of summer. Iām keeping the Blackbox through a couple of engagements I have in July and then the DT will take its place.
R&D for new Machines requires ressources and time.
Would you pay for new Machines in the Syntakt?
What would be a fair price for a new Machine?
Trying to do a track in 4/4 with a single track in 5/4. Managed this by making the one track 15/16 length but this first note is double triggering instead of playing as a true 15/16, anyone able to help?
Increase the master pattern length to infinite if you just want to use one pattern, otherwise use any multiple of 5 and 4. But for a true 5/4, the step length should be 20, not 15, I think.
Elektron gave us a second lfo for the DT for free amongst other cool updates. Why should we pay for it now?
These questions are just for my own curiosity.
Iām assuming that developing new Machines would add a lot of costs for Elektron.
So, to keep the company healthy and to payback them. The more money they get, the closest we get to a new Flagship product?
P.S. Iām aware that they gave us a lot of updates and add-ons during those past years but, for my part, I wouldnāt be shocked if I had to pay for extra Machines (as long as it stays in the Hardware domain).
The price and the success of the groovebox are sufficient guarantees for updates, IMO
That has been Elektronās vision for decades, why would this change now for worse?
If they did so, they would loose control on what and how to develop.
I prefer that they keep refining their vision instead of letting thousands of customers dictate contradictory directions.
I hated Roland when they started to let people pay for upgrades (TR-8, System-1, etcā¦)
And i still love Elektron because they keep updating our instruments for free.
Because of all the changes theyāve been through the past years (SAAS, new CEO, ā¦). We have been very spoiled with Elektron, donāt we? I wouldnāt mind give them back money for the joy they gave me during those years. Would it be worse?
For me, adding new Machines wouldnāt be part of an update. Taking care of bugs and give add-ons is different from developing new Machines.
I just gave them 999 bucks!
But i would also pay for new machines. I just hope they wonāt make me.
Thank you for your help but no luck. Tried both and no luck, am I missing something?
