Probably
Yeh.
I wonder if , since itās 4voice per track, if that could could be merged to mono as 4 grains, chopped up and delay/loop modulatedā¦ā¦ not anything to do with FM algos
Just musing
has anyone one done a tear down?
Iām curious if the RAM is the same as the Digitakt.
I know there seems to be a lot of push back against the possibility that the Syntakt might use samples in the future, IF it does, I donāt think itāll be like the AR or the DT, itāll probably be something like PCM or vectors or granular synthesis, or some other sort of novel synthesis. (Iām thinking something like a very striped down version of the particle engine on the Waldorf iridium)
8.1 THE +DRIVE SOUND LIBRARY AND THE SOUND POOL
The total size of the +Drive is 1 GB. The +Drive sound library can hold up to 2048 sounds (256 sounds in each bank A-H) that are available to all projects.
My 2 cents: just do what ess did in the first place and make a M4L/Max/PD/SC patch that does what you want
I wonder if the Syntakt can be turned into an Octatrack via future firmware. Or at least into a SP-404.
Now we get to obsess over the fact that itās mentioned in the Syntakt manual but not in the manuals of the other non-sampling devicesā¦
I wonder that too, and also wonder why canāt we (I include myself here) take ST (or any other machine) for what it is and just learn it inside out. Entire genres have been born from much less capable machinesā¦ when I miss a feature I listen to this thing done on a Roland PMA-5 and go back to jam with the boxes.
Speaking of that, as the sounds are copied within the patterns, does the 2048 limit include the sound copies in the patterns ? I guess not, but just to be sure.
From the Machinedrum UW review in SOS. You could obviously do a huge lot with very very little. RAM-machines on ST would be super cool. I can absolutely live without it though
The Stimming review may well be what tips me over the edge into buying it
Donāt do this to me Stimmingā¦
No.
Ā£5 for the first one to leave a comment about sound quality when the video drops.
For example developer of Waldorf M added a feature of loading limited (short) user samples - ātransientsā - in one of recent firmware updates. Probably nobody saw this coming after initial release of wavetable machine like this. But it did happen. So I donāt think it is completely impossible even with ānot a lotā of RAM. A āDT Machineā would be out of focus of Syntakt, but why not some kind of a layer toolā¦
I bet he didnāt even read the manual!
I played with the syntakt a bit at the store and noticed something odd, a lot of the button combos are slightly different to the other two digi boxes. For instance on the digi boxes you hold func and ptn to turn the metronome on and off and just tap it to go to the metronome menu. This is reversed on the syntakt, and there were a few other small differences that were a bit odd to me, but I canāt remember them now.
I ordered as he gave the Syntakt his endorsement. To me Stimming is one of the few trustworthy reviewers out there.
Who here is going to be brave, crack their Syntakt open and give us a look under the bonnet?
ā¦who needs the guarantee anyway?!
exactly! soooā¦ whoās going to be first?
