Nice summary!
If āsynā means eyesight then someone at Elektron missed a few separate outputs on the back, as we say here āshouldāve gone to spec saversā
2 more Outputs to separate the Drums from the Melodic stuff would have been self-contain heaven. There is always OB for that task, though.
Absolutely I mentioned this before however I want to use my hardware synths without the need for a computer at any stage. IMHO itās a waste of time buying hardware just to have it used with a computer, cheaper buying soft synths, just my opinion of course. Iām sure Syntakt is great but more outs would have been nice.
I do think thereās a genuine reason to be a little disappointed that thereās no extra outs on the Syntakt.
Thereās plenty going on in there that Iām more than happy with just the stereo out, but 12 tracks is kind of asking for it really, given thereās no per-track effects available.
Having said that, I feel like the real joy is to be had using all those voices to layer up sounds, which makes a stereo out less disappointing.
Does each pattern function like a kit - i.e. each pattern can have unique sounds and sound settings? Similar to the Digitakt?
Thanks!
Yep, like I say Ivāe read the features and it does sound really good but 12 tracks is gonna mean a lot of HPF going on or your gonna get muddy mixes unless you use Overbridge hence my issue with the lack of out puts. For a machine this powerful surely there was room for a few more outs. But I donāt own a Syntakt but happy days to those who do. I just donāt wanna use computers to use my hardware
Someone mentioned on one of the myriad Syntakt threads that they were pleasantly surprised to find a 303 inside the ST.
And some of the demos have also had some 303 going on, even one of the original tunes on the preview radio show.
So what machine are people using for that? DVCO?
According to the manual, yes.
Yeah, Iād be surprised if I use more than about 8 or 9 tracks at a time, to be honest.
Adding lower powered sampling to Syntakt after the initial release expectations is pretty savvy. Though some people will still complain that its not quadraphonic or whatever, short mono samples would be a huge bonus if you werenāt expecting it at all. If they were there from the beginning everyone would be begging for stereo
and yea DVCO
I mean, it works enough for me, but Iāve never had a real one, so depends how close it needs to be. Iām sure true 303 users will hugely disagree with this mind.
Someone else mentioned there are also no slides so itāll never get fully there though.
Yeah, understood - itās 303-ish. Was just curious if it is the DVCO.
Indeed, but
Yea!!
Or p-lock the LFO depth, LFO in trig mode, assigned to pitch. Making it a mod envelope.
how to use the DVCO to make an acid like bass? (which settings)
Iām the wrong person to ask, donāt have one.
But probably a low pass filter and turning up the resonance will play a big part. Also filter envelope.
