Is it possible to route audio from Ableton into the AR through Overbridge?

Hi all,

I’ve done a bit of searching for this and can’t quite find any kind of confirmation.

I’ve seen Cenk route audio from Ableton into a A4 and AR. Is it possible to do this with a AR alone?

Cheers,
Rhamy

Alright mate! Yeah it’s possible - see pages 12 and 13 of the Overbridge manual.

You need to switch on the Outputs in the Overbridge control panel (you might need to reduce the number of Input channels you are using in Overbridge due to USB bandwidth).

Then select the relevant output under “Audio To” on the Ableton track.

Haha did wonder if I might run into you on here!

I’ve tried that and it only gives me side chain options, no audio seems to come through. I’ll give it another look though and see how I get on. Really want to make use of the filters for stuff originating in the DAW.

Yeah side-chain is how you get it in.

  • Turn on the respective side-chain channels in Overbridge (‘machine’ tab on right)
  • Turn off/down the Rytm machine sound. (On A4 I would turn off the OSCs)
  • Put a trig on the first step of the Track you are sending the audio to.
  • Set the Track’s Amp envelope to stay open.

You should hear the Ableton audio playing - running through Rytm’s Overdrive and Filter.

(Obviously, I’m assuming it works the same way as the A4 - but we can look at it when you’re over and I’m sure it’ll work, barring an OS bug).
