Find a lawyer, charge them. They will answers very fast and very polite as soon as they recive a letter prepared by him. In my famaili it is my wife who win all that kind of battles.

You are not a customer of UPS, you don’t owe them anything. You were just the recipient and sender in that transaction but Thomann is and has always been their customer.

I wish that were true but they are acting as importer they can claim they are providing you a “service” around customs paperwork. That’s part of how they gouge Canadians.
