Kick Love

How happy are you with the kicks? I find the kicks pretty well. They can be really deep and / or dirty and you can shape the transient or the click with the 2 op envs and the feedback very good. I like that much better then on the AR. On the AR (especially on the Hard BD) i miss the feature to tweak the lenght of the transient.

Also the bass can be earth shaking (i guess because its made from sinewaves). Just wished all the bass presets had the reverb and delay already down

It is a DREAM that AR has jsut a clone of BazzISM. It will be enough to cover all kicks ever
Currently I don’t feel any excitement with kicks on AR and use only samples there…

I don’t even own one yet, but I have been really impressed by the kicks in Digitone audio demos. A positive suprise, for whatever reason I thought that FM wasn’t this good for kicks.

I just tweaked the preset kicks a bit, but from what I understood so far, its basicaly just building the transient and click witht the fm and the env for the operators and the feedback, and the rest of the kick is mor or less pure sinewave (well depends on the decay stage of the moduluation envelops). Especially the feedback can really shape a transient from just a little click to a harsch “z”.

I was also very happy to discover that the Digitone does amazing kicks. I made a clean, deep electronic kick that sounds really good and so I have sampled it for the AR. I’m actually very happy with the kicks in the AR but this Digi-kick is more clean, clear and electronic.
Then it’s funny that you can almost make the same crunchy, overdriven kicks of the AR by adjusting the Harmonics without even using the filter drive or Overdrive at all. The harmonics parameter can really change the character of the kick.
