The FLIP operator is the secret weapon for through zero PWM sounds.

This was transcribed from Darth Vader, my lab mascot, because it is “All too Easy”

He says:

a) From an INIT patch on Osc 1:BASIC 1 wavetable at POS=0 select the sawtooth wave, set the volume to 42 (the answer to the Universe and Everything)
b) Osc2: Basic 1 wavetable at POS=0 select the sawtooth wave, set the volume to 42
c) Set Osc2 operator to FLIP, Morph=0, this inverts the waveform 180 degrees and if all is right, you should hear absolutely nothing.
d)Modulate the phase on Osc2 with an LFO at an appropriate rate and you should here through zero PWM.
Set to 180 degrees displacement.
e)watch it on the waveform monitor to confirm
f)all other goodies to make a patch (adjust DO levels and modifiers to taste)
g)No carbon freezing was used for this tutorial
