Level of Triangle Waveform on Analog Four MKII Much Lower than Others

I’m new to analog synths, and Analog Four MKII is my first analog synth. Would appreciate your input to determine if my unit has a problem or the behavior described below is normal.

Observation
The level of the Triangle waveform on Analog Four MKII is significantly lower than the other waveforms. The other waveforms, while different in character, are more or less similar in terms of perceived level.

I understand that a triangle wave contains fewer harmonics and a faster drop in the amplitude of the harmonics. However, I don’t know if oscillators are supposed to compensate for that to achieve a similar/normalized level across different wave shapes or not.

Question
Is the above behavior normal? Do you have the same experience on your unit?

Would appreciate your input.

Yes, and yes.

Play with the pulse width to add harmonics and compare the volume: you should see your unit is fine

If you record a raw pulse and a raw triangle wave in your daw then compare the waveforms, I bet you’ll see that their peak-to-peak distance is the same.
That’s just how the human perception works.

Thanks everyone for your input!
The uncertainty was bothering me, but now my mind is at ease.

Thank you, that’s a great suggestion. That might be a good exercise to try.

On a similar note, it would be nice if I could find a simple setup to always have a scope in front of me, at least during the early learning stages.
