Listening a specific step of the sequencer

Hi!

I just bought my first Elektron instrument, the Model:Cycles and I am trying to get used with the sequencer.
One thing I would like to do is to listen to a specific step of my sequence so that I can fine tune the parameters for this step (so that I don’t need to play the whole pattern and wait for my specific step to ear the changes I just made).
Is there a way to do that?

What do you mean by {YES}?

There’s a [YES] button on a digitakt (and possibly others), but not on a model:cycles or model:samples.

You might find this technique useful. But if I were you, I’d experiment on a throwaway pattern first, it’s a while since I used this technique, and I don’t know if you can shorten the length to one step, which is what you seem to need.

Trick can be used to build a 4 page Track/Pattern, from multiple 1 page patterns

For this purpose, I think there’s a shorter way. Starting with your full 64 step pattern Use ‘track rotate’ (hold down TRACK, turn LEVEL/DATA) to move the part of the melody you want into the 16 steps Shorten pattern to 16 steps, edit the melody. Set pattern back to 64 steps, and rotate the melody track back to where it should be. I’m pretty sure that works … will try it out later and edit this reply if needed. Of course, doing this might be pretty hard if the track you’re editing doesn’t …
