Logic Pro Pattern Changing

I’ve just got a digitone and i’m looking to utilise it in a live scenario instead of running backing tracks. I’ve figured out how to get the clock working with my daw (Logic pro if you couldn’t guess) and I can use the midi tracks in the daw to trigger the digitone tracks. The only thing left that I’d like to do is swap patterns on the digitone from within logic, is this even possible?? if so, how?
Thanks,
Josh

Of course!

Set up an external midi track in Logic, assign the correct channel, then create an empty region in the appropriate place and add the required program change message for the pattern that you want (program 0-127 maps to pattern A1-H16) in the region automation.

The Logic documentation and the digitone midi spec should cover it all. The digitone might have to be set up to receive pattern change commands.

Can confirm, it’s definitely doable as I did the same thing for my Digitakt. It’s a bit fiddly. You have to draw an automation line to the value you want, which isn’t the easiest. Also you will need to bring in the new value before the start of the bar you want the pattern for, otherwise it will change but not until it’s run the existing pattern for another entire sequence. Just like when you’re playing your digi live

Does Logic have the list editor? That would be easier than working in automation. In the old versions (I used Logic on the Atari and then up to the last pc version) you would create a progam change event.

I found it! https://support.apple.com/kb/PH13096?locale=en_US

Yes, you can use the event list of course.

Logic isn’t the most straightforward with midi stuff but it works fine once you figure it out.
