M/S - audition different sample start just for trig 13?

Im very new to model samples so still trying to get my head around the elektron way.

I have a keys sample with two chord stabs on a track. On trig 5 i have the sample start on the first stab, then on trig 13 i am moving the start point of the sample so it hits on the 2nd chord stab.

My issue is that i havent worked out how to audition the sample start for trig 13. Tried holding the trig down and then tapping the pad while moving the sample start knob. Didnt work. Ive just been letting the sequence run and trying to change the sample start as the sequence goes around but that is feeling clumsy.

is there an easier way to audition the sample start from a specific trig?

No, there is no trig preview on M:S. The only workaround I can think of:

  1. parameter lock trig 5 with desired starting point
  2. adjust starting point for the whole track while hitting the pad until you find the setting for trig 13
  3. parameter lock trig 13
  4. set starting point for the whole track back to beginning

its interesting though that you can set the velocity of the trig by tapping the pad, so there is a link but its not extended to the knobs unfortunately.

I will try what you suggested as it sounds like it will work fine. thanks.
