Machinedrum mk1 encoder replacement

Hi,
I have a machinedrum mk 1 which needs the encoders replaced.
I’m trying to find any videos that could show me the full process.
Does anybody have a tutorial video of this process they could kindly offer me? It would be greatly appreciated!
I don’t think elektron offer a repair service for the machinedrum mk 1 anymore.

Thanks Watford,

I already have the encoder knobs. I purchased these from elektron a good while back.
Just need some visual guidance on how to properly remove the old ones and replace them without causing any damage to the machinedrum.

in that thread there is the octatrack encoder replacement vid, which is the same process.

you could use the md rocker switch vid as guidance to open the machine.

but there isn’t an explicit hand holding walkthrough video for every step with the md (that i’m aware of)

many people have walked the path you’re about to go down, i suggest you go slowly. have you much soldering experience?

Like Waftlord said, this video Octatrack Encoder Repair - YouTube is very helpful. I actually just did the same thing on my MD mk1 and it was surprisingly easy. Works great now!

No soldering experience at all so I think I’m going to ask my Dad if he’ll give it a go. He does have soldering experience.
