Do any of you have experience of using the machinedrum to sequence an S900/950 or other S-series sampler?
To me it seems like a great combo, but I never had the chance of working with akai samplers so there might be something I’m not thinking of (except obvious limitations of old samplers like storage, loading times, size etc).
No experience but since the S9X0 ones are so early, I would expect that not too much MIDI tweaking is possible beyond Note On/Off and Velocity. I could be wrong but I would start by checking the MIDI specs in the S9X0 manuals. There is a filter on those units so that might be tweakable too. But from what I understand, people used to mainly just trigger them back in the day.
