Managing presets on the A4

Hey all,

Just picked up an analog four mk2 - its brilliant, absolutely loving it.

It arrived with loads of presets and a few paid-for sound packs so im working through them and reorganising them. Whats the best software to organise all of your presets? Ideally it would be something where I can demo a sound, edit the tags, and drag and drop it into a new bank or delete it.

Overbridge is good for working through the sounds and deleting the ones I dont like (but I cant move sounds between banks or rename them or edit the tags etc). Doing it on the device itself is pretty slow going (and it seems you can only copy a sound to another bank, not move it). The transfer app doesnt seem to let you rename or move sounds between banks either. And you cant edit the tags or really demo them in here.

Surely im missing something? There must be a bit of software out there that lets you do this basic preset management stuff. My comparatively cheap bass station 2 has it, you know?

Any tips genuinely appreciated

Hey, for anyone interested here’s how I went about it:

I made a folder on my desktop for each bank (a - p) then opened the transfer app and copied each bank from the A4 to the corresponding folder. Then i wiped all the presets from the machine.

I then made a new set of folders on the desktop for my yet-to-be organised presets, and re-loaded bank A back on to the machine. I played each sound on the A4 itself, then used the transfer app to copy the preset to the correct folder. I then deleted the full bank and re-loaded bank B. Then C, Then D etc.

Unfortunately you cant rename anything in the transfer app, but you can rename the actual file itself in the folder.

When I’d worked through all of the banks and sorted the presets into their new folders, I loaded these back onto the machine.

Finally, if you want to re-tag the preset then you have to do that on the machine itself - it’s quite time consuming to work through multiple presets.

Got there in the end, took a full day basically.
