I have just installed the AR overbrigde plugin and configured it without problem to use each output as an audio track but after reading the manual and check the Dataline youtube videos I still have a few questions that I would appreciate a lot if you could help me with.
I understand I should activate the option Sync Analog Rythm sequencer to host but if I do this, every time I press the play button in ableton the kit starts sounding automatically. Thought I could fix this in the midi configuration settings as I did when I use the AR without the overbridge. How should I configure this? It seems like works well even if I don´t activate the option Sync Analog Rythm sequencer to host…
How can I manage the sound browser? Is possible to create a new kit from scratch using different sounds and samples that I have (for example creating a new kit with samples from different AR packs such as Legowelt, 808…
I can have access to all my sounds and projects in the sample slot section in the kit editor but what should I do if I only want to use one sample instead adding it to the current kit sound? I can down the volume in the synth section and turn up in the sample slot section but, is this the right way or I should assign the sample in the tracks drag and drop section?
Please could you tell me how should I do the midi configuration to have the AR slave to Ableton with overbridge? I used to work well without the overbrigde by usb using only clock receive in the midi sync options but now when I press play with the Sync Analog Rythm sequencer to host option activated the kit starts sounding automatically under the midi notes I draw in the ableton midi channel. The overbridge is amazing and works well but this issue is being a headache.
Hi Tanaka,
you dont need to make a midi connection from live to Rytm (if you have, turn it off). MIDI and Audio is handled all via Overbridge. Just make up a Drum Rack with Overbridge, create a midi track in that drum rack and receive the audio. Turn “Latency compensation” in Live on, so that it syncs correctly.
If you want so use a sample only, just turn the volume of the synth down.
You are right, I understand I don´t need the midi ports activated. I only have in the usb configuration overbridge mode. But the problem is that if I activate the option Sync Analog Rythm sequencer to host every time I press the play button in ableton another kit begin to sound automatically behind the actual pattern I have written in an ableton clip. I´m not sure if I´m explaining very well this… bur it seems like another pattern is sounding behind.
And the AR plugin works if I don´t have activate the tab Sync Analog Rythm sequencer to host but the tempo doesn´t change but if I change it from ableton it does.
Spacetravel, you are right, when I hit play on the computer starts the AR. I want to have the AR as a ableton slave but I´m not sure how to play only the notes I draw previously without sounding another totally different pattern behind.
I mean, if for example I loaded a kit and I only want to play the drums and snares I have in my midi clip not more in addition, how should I do?
To set a blank pattern, how should I do? Can´t I play a kit only with the notes that I want?
Goat: think with the overbridge I don´t need to activate any midi options and the tempo syncs itself when I use the tab sync Analog Rythm sequencer to host. But if I do this another pattern starts to sound even if I haven´t any note in my midi clip.
On the other hand if I don´t activate the sync Analog Rythm sequencer to host even if I hit play button in ableton only the pattern I have in my midi clip sounds… but I don´t know why the AR is still a slave if I don´t have activate the tab…
