Master effect distortion

Stupid question prob but what is the reason of the master distortion, wouldn’t it be more logic if it was a send effect

.

Adding a bit of Distortion to the whole mix will glue elements, cut peaks adding RMS, presence, etc.
In other words it will enrich your mix making it closer to master grade.

Also it can be used in conjunction with the scenes for radical song structure’s variations.

My tip is, start adding till you hear the Kick and Low stuff start to sound not as you like, then just come back a bit.

You will (probably) need to reshape a bit your mix after.

At the end you will have a rounded, more powerful , and tasty sound.
